Why High-Rise Owners Call Us In

Over the years we've been called out to all sorts of high-rise and hard-to-reach jobs. Here's a look at the kind of problems that typically bring a facilities manager or building owner to a rope access team instead of scaffold or a cherry picker.

  • Storm and weather damage - cladding, render, or roofing panels loosened or cracked in high winds need fast, safe assessment and repair before the next storm makes it worse.
  • Blocked or damaged rainwater goods - gutters, downpipes, and drainage at height are easy to overlook until they fail, and often sit in places scaffold can't reach economically.
  • Routine building envelope inspections - facades, seals, and fixings need periodic checking, and rope access lets us get eyes and hands on the actual surface rather than relying on binoculars from the ground.
  • Time-critical repairs - when scaffold lead times run into weeks, rope access can often mobilise within days, which matters when water's already getting in.
  • Ongoing maintenance without the disruption - painting, cleaning, and bird control work that needs doing without closing off entrances or blocking pavements for a scaffold tower.

A Recent Example:

A high-rise residential block had several cladding panels damaged in a storm, with render coming away from the building above street level. Full scaffold would have taken weeks to plan and erect - not viable with exposed cladding letting water into the building fabric. Our team mobilised within days, replaced the damaged panels safely, and had the building weathertight again with minimal disruption to residents below.

If you're managing a building and something similar sounds familiar - get in touch, we're happy to have a look.
